POSITION SUMMARY:
The Reliability Engineer enhances operational stability by identifying and addressing equipment and process health issues, improving equipment uptime through advanced maintenance practices, and optimizing component consumption. They leverage data from various sources to develop reliability models, create key performance indicators, and partner with maintenance and engineering teams to extend equipment life and increase mean time between failures (MTBF). Additionally, the engineer mentors developing staff and promotes a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify top equipment and process health issues hindering operations and maintenance stability.
- Improve equipment % Uptime through the implementation of improved Preventative Maintenance practices.
- Leverage AW Pulse, EAM, Central Stores, Financial and Operations data to identify and implement improvements to % Uptime and Plant Output.
- Increase equipment reliabilty (mean time between failure MTBF) through the implementation and improvement of predictive and preventative maintenance practices.
- Identify top preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities within the sub-plants and work with the maintenance teams to update plans and procedures as needed.
- Optimize component consumption and improve MTBF through component standardization and specifiactions.
- Create key performance indicators
- Develop reliablity model for component, equipment and tooling life
- Create and implement plans that proactively address equipment obsolscense.
- Develop reliability model for screw and barrel life
- Partner with maintenance on training, scheduling or procedure updates
- Partner with manufacturing engineering on new tooling and/or equipment innovations and specification to extend equipment life and increase MTBF
- Partner with suppliers to build strong collaborative relationships
- Identify procedures and best practices for new process introductions
- Strong understanding of DMAIC tools to enable Lean Sigma cost savings projects
- Demonstrate continued personal growth and development
- Mentor developing engineers and technicians
- Promote a hands-on, high involvement approach to problem solving
DIRECTION OF OTHERS
- Leads, assigns, and reviews work of engineers and technicians as appropriate
- Assist in development of the future structure of the team which includes the development of the key roles and processes
- Builds collaborative relationships across the Enterprise. Interfaces with Business partner groups responsible for our processes and methodologies.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a BS in Engineering or Technology
- 3-7 years of experience in process, equipment health or manufacturing support
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally within an organization
- Strong knowledge of statistics. Must demonstrate the ability to be able to communicate both written and verbal to all levels within the organization and externally to suppliers.
- Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $77,000 - $119,000 annually.
