SUMMARY:
Join our skilled team as a Waste Wood Controller I, where you'll master the art of controlling and optimizing our entire filter system. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring efficient fuel supply, managing sawdust and shavings, and operating advanced equipment. Your expertise in troubleshooting, performing minor repairs, and adhering to safety standards will be crucial. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a controlled start up shut down of the entire filter system.
- Operate and troubleshoot filter system grid and related equipment.
- Monitor and keep sufficient supply of fuel by hogging waste.
- Control levels of sawdust, shavings, storage for boiler fuel and Fibrex.
- Operate sawdust-loading equipment.
- Have complete knowledge of the vault systems and storage silos, and sawdust loading equipment.
- Perform diverting of grid system based on systems in operation to optimize efficiencies.
- Have knowledge of the Grecon/Pyroguard system and how to operate.
- Assist with electrical/mechanical repairs to filter systems and related equipment.
- Assist the Air Technicians with fittings and filter systems layouts.
- Monitor/report daily weights to S.G.F./Monitor VFD’s continuously.
- Know fuel supply requirements, wood fuel vs. gas.
- Have knowledge on how to perform lubrication and minor repair work on filter and vault systems.
- Operate and feed wood hog and related equipment.
- Ensure quality, safety standards are being met throughout all job functions; reporting unsafe conditions per Andersen safety policy to immediate supervisor.
- Follow procedures for LOTO, electrical, mechanical safe work practices, ladder safety, fire response, fall protection, enclosed space entry and use proper PPE.
- Outdoor work is required.
- Generally work alone.
- Aerial lifts and PIT license required.
- Carries out similar and related duties of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Some training in a maintenance trade.
- Proficient knowledge of the filter system grid.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong customer focus: Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal customers, service providers, supervisor, and fellow workers.
- Required knowledge of using proper PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, and ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Work in potentially dirty and dusty conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Overtime to support production
- Must have General Mechanical knowledge
- Occasionally working near hot equipment and / or materials.
- Occasionally push-pull, lift/carry 10-100 pound.
- Occasionally squat, crawl, lift heavy material, job requires repetitive actions: simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulating with both hands, installing and maintaining equipment that requires climbing, crawling and heights.
- Able to withstand excessive seasonal temperatures
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $25.45-$31.81 per hour.
