PURPOSE:
We are looking for a Quality Technician to join our composites processing support team at Andersen’s Bayport, MN facility. The primary focus of the Quality Technician will be to verify and test product for conformance to specification, train operators on customer requirements and measurement equipment, provide advanced testing and inspection, maintain quality documentation, and assist the production and engineering groups in the development and maintenance of stable and capable extrusion processes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform line audits to verify finished goods based on performance specifications
Make go/no go decisions on questionable product
Communicate, document, and help train operators on quality requirements
Provide support and training on measurement tools and equipment
Perform advanced product testing (shrink, impact, material property, etc.) as necessary
Work with leads, supervisors, technicians, engineers, and other support members to communicate and correct quality issues as necessary
Participate in process improvement and problem-solving activities
Review of first article samples and coordination of sample collection and testing
Participates in the QMS auditing process and helps develop modifications as necessary
Work with customer (assembly partners) to resolve customer concerns
Assist in the development and verification of new test standards and equipment to meet the changing and growing customer requirements
Audit extrusion paperwork to ensure all necessary documents are being filled out to ensure material traceability
Participate in the Material Review Board and Tier I/II meetings assisting in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
Responsible for processing and transacting internal Non-Conforming Material (NCM)
Analyze run charts data using SPC methodology
Audit QA Station documentation, functional gages, control plans, roadmaps and other job aids ensuring they are correct and up to date while correcting any deficiencies
Perform product testing (dimension, material and appearance) and provide first article data and reports to Quality Engineer in necessary format(s) as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required
Evidence of responsibility for verifying product conformance to specifications either in a quality or production role
Must be able to work with and communicate both verbally and written to all levels of the company
Demonstrated ability to multitask, and work in a fast pace flexible environment
Desire to continue to grow and develop personally
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced in the area of document creation and control
Experience in an extrusion environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze and present recommendations in a clear, concise, and logical manner
Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $21.80 - $31.60 per hour.
