SUMMARY

This Product Owner role is accountable for client-centric ownership of the data catalog including training, rollout, vendor partnership & roadmap for enhancements. This role will act as a liaison between IT, Data Governance teams, business stakeholders and vendors, collaborating closely with all groups to ensure that the “voice of the customer" is clearly understood, prioritized and incorporated into the final solution. The Product Owner will also drive metrics to measure the impact of products/applications on business and stakeholder value.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the organization's data catalog initiatives to establish and maintain a cohesive and effective data cataloging system, integral to the company's broader data governance strategy and objectives. Ensure effective delivery of the value of data catalog governance by facilitating easy access to data, clarifying data origins and processes, and assessing its suitability for various uses.
  • In partnership with the technical lead, configure and maintain data governance and catalog solution for the organization, ensuring that its functionalities and benefits are fully leveraged across different business units
  • Oversee the coordination of activities concerning metadata identification, standardization, and updates within their respective source systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the data catalog, create training materials and educate users as needed, and evangelize new capabilities through training and demos to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work directly and indirectly with business stakeholders, vendors and third parties to ensure execution of deliverables
  • Monitor compliance and lead audit of data governance policies and procedures and develop and publish metrics for metadata completeness and data catalog usage

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree (Management Information Systems, Business Administration preferred) or equivalent industry experience
  • Scrum Certification Preferred: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Information Technology/Software Development/Operations/Infrastructure efforts with progressive responsibility
  • Demonstrated previous success performing the Product Owner role in an agile work environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.).
  • Tools: Working experience with utilizing and configuring JIRA and other Agile Planning Tools (CA Agile Rally, VersionOne, etc.)
  • Preferred: Experience with data cataloging tools: Alation, data. world, Collibra, Atlan

COMPENSATION 

Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $88,235 per year to $136,765 per year.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
