This position is responsible for managing the Window Plant Coatings Engineering Team that provides engineering support to the nine paint lines within Window Plant Coatings Value Stream. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing an annual strategy focused on operations excellence, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation within our manufacturing processes. This role will provide strategic project direction on large scale projects in the Bayport Window Plant which includes business case justification, stakeholder alignment, and project execution. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity.
This position ensures that the assigned manufacturing engineering team is operated in accordance with Andersen’s values, employee covenant, and strategic direction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with operations leadership, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to lead and manage change within the Coatings Value Stream
- Support delivery of our SQDC metrics and hold team accountable to targets
- Foster an environment of improving process control and reducing variation
- Align resources to strategic goals and objectives
- Ensure that our teams and working partners utilize and adhere to our engineering and project management toolkits
- Work with business partners and leverage data to determine project focus and improvement opportunities
- Develop, execute, and manage a capital investment plan for the value-stream
- Identify, recruit and onboard engineering and technician talent as needed
- Establish an environment conducive to teamwork, high morale, employee satisfaction and performance
- Establish annual functional and project expense budgets and deliver on target
- Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and financial resources necessary to meet internal and external customer expectations
- Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the growth and development of the manufacturing engineering team
- Be highly visible within the value stream to create a safe environment for collaboration and participation
- Promote a hands-on, high involvement approach to problem solving
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
- 5 Engineers/Technicians
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering or Material Science degree preferred)
- 5+ years experience in a technical role (engineering, quality, etc.)
- Equipment procurement experience
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality control systems (SPC, Process Capability)
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic corporate finance, budgeting, accounting
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
- Ability to break down technical narratives and present clearly to senior leadership
- Liquid spray coatings experience preferred
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $99,216 - $153,784 annually.
