SUMMARY
This composites Technician position within the Bayport Composites team will work closely with our engineers, quality team, operators, operations leads, and supervisors to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot production equipment and processes, and provide hands-on support and training for operators at the Bayport site. This role is heavily focused on the extrusion processes and tooling. This role will assist in various daily and weekly activities while supporting some longer-term projects. This position is critical to hitting our daily, weekly, and period based goals while putting a focus on delivering excellence in extrusion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot issues with extrusion processes across the Bayport site.
- Manage, clean and care for extrusion tooling and ancillary equipment.
- Train and support operations team involved with extrusion processes.
- Assist with cross-functional work on continuous improvement and safety projects.
- Take corrective action on safety incidents, machine downtime, or quality incidents that deviates from customer requirements, with support from engineering team.
- Assist with engineering/operations projects as needed.
- Proactively identify potential downtime, scrap or reliability issues and communicate them up to appropriate level.
- Continuously drive standardization of processes and methods.
- Understand all required department documentation standards and their impact on the extrusion and compounding process. Ensure that documentation is properly completed, reviewed, and approved.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- High school diploma with 2+ years of experience in related field.
- Strong prioritization and multi-tasking capability.
- Strong aptitude for problem-solving and process improvement.
- Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrates a strong interest and aptitude for work in a technical field.
- Experience with PC and software applications.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
