POSITION SUMMARY:
The CAD Designer generates 3D models, assemblies, and drawings, for moderate to complex product designs with basic to moderate engineering direction while considering the needs of other business areas such as manufacturing, material process and environmental impacts. The CAD Designer leverages other technologies such as tolerance analysis, FEA modeling and rapid prototyping to turn ideas into solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist in developing product design solutions by providing your input, thoughts, ideas, and options closely collaborating with product engineers
- To iterate through design ideas generating 3-D CAD models to capture and communicate the design intent
- Update product engineering documentation to accurately represent the red-line changes aligning to the corporate standards, procedures and best practices
- Act as the team CAD application and PLM process expert
- Take appropriate action to resolve details not completely defined
- Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones and required tasks required for projects and take corrective action to achieve timelines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Associate of Science Degree with a suggested minimum of 3 years’ experience in related area of work
- Proficient 3D solid modeling CAD Skills, including the ability to work through challenges independently (Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD Preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic design analysis tools, and dimensioning & tolerancing strategies
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to build and establishing models for simulations including thermal simulation scenarios, FEA simulation coordination & Tolerance and Datum Strategy development
- Demonstrated knowledge of material characteristics and tooling concepts influencing design requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of a Product Data Management system and process optimization
- Ability to mentor and train lower-level CAD associates on the standards, best practices and processes required to generate and manage the design models and documentation.
COMPENSATION: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $29.69 - $44.53.
