The Building Science Application Specialist plays a key role within the Architectural Services Team, which is dedicated to supporting customers in the proper application and successful integration of Andersen Windows and Doors into their projects. This position is responsible for advancing Andersen’s leadership in building envelope integration by shaping strategy, driving innovation, and enhancing technical capabilities. Through expert consultation and collaboration, the specialist will help deliver world-class support that ensures optimal product performance and customer satisfaction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert on building envelope systems, providing guidance and insight to cross-functional teams and customers. Document and drive standardization of Installation Methods across the product portfolio.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of installation methods that improve the reliability and performance of Andersen products.
- Partner with Research, Development & Innovation (RD+I) to identify and address emerging trends in materials and construction methods within the market and work closely with Product Design to integrate and optimize building science principles into product development.
- Collaborate with the Code and Regulatory Affairs team to ensure product development teams remain informed of the latest industry standards, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to window products.
- Drive the use of building science principals to improve the related technical information delivered to trade customers and shape the strategy for engagement with the builder and architect audiences.
- Represent the Architectural Services team as the building science subject matter expert at trade shows, symposiums, or lectures as a participant, technical voice, or seminar presenter. Provide internal training on subject matter.
- Manages own workflow, setting priorities and negotiating delivery of work to meet project or customer expectations. Proactively mentors and coaches less experienced team members. Organizes peer involvement in large projects and evaluating work. Facilitates communication of cross-functional teams' engagement in addressing building envelope application and installation systems requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Completed professional degree in Architecture, 4-year degree in Engineering, or Building Science program
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in architecture, structural engineering, forensic architecture, or other building science consulting.
- Licensed Architect or Licensed Structural Engineer PE preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written technical presentation and communication skills, with proficient knowledge of MS Office suite of tools as well as AutoCAD, Revit or other current BIM software experience required.
- Extensive experience in designing and managing complex architectural/construction projects including the integration of windows and doors into building envelopes.
COMPENSATION: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $99,216 - $153,784.
