SUMMARY:

Join our team as a Facilities Custodian, where you'll efficiently clean and maintain all office and service areas in our factory and main offices. You'll operate automatic equipment to keep factory floor aisles spotless and provide direction and coaching for fellow custodians. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment while leading by example.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Performs routine and non-routine cleaning and housekeeping duties in an office or plant and other areas as required
• Cleans lavatories, collects and disposes of waste paper 
• May vacuum, sweep, mop and wax floors and stairs 
• May operate industrial cleaning equipment/machinery in performing assigned duties as required 
• Recommend/report repairs to appropriate management 
• Duties require moderate physical strength  
• Cleaning of bodily fluids as necessary 
• Must be able to read and follow label instructions on cleaning materials  
• Maintain supplies in storage areas
• Provides duties for special events/areas
• May operate snow removal equipment and/or shovel snow
• Keep public areas clean
• Keep offices, break rooms, and Corridors clean
• Vacuum, clean rugs and carpets
• Scrub and clean restrooms fixtures and keep restrooms supplied with towels, soap and other items
• Dust and clean walls, doors, windows, woodwork and other above-floor surfaces
• Dust clean and polish furniture
• Notify lead of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement
• Perform related work as required and instructed
• Stripping and refinishing floors
• Vacuuming furniture and drapes
• Window washing
• Wall washing
• Light fixture vacuuming and washing
• Carpet shampooing
• Clean up blood
• Related work as required and as instructed

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Knowledge of using the appropriate PPE (personal protection equipment)
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Skillful in cleaning and waxing
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain working relations with Supervisor, lead, and fellow workers
•  Must be able to read and follow label instructions on cleaning material
