Andersen Corporation is seeking a Site Plan Engineer to lead, develop, and execute site planning for the Window Plant in our Bayport, MN location.
PURPOSE
This position is responsible for owning Site Plan which effectively manages the strategic use of 2.3M ft2 of manufacturing space. This area covers the entirety of the Bayport Window Plant as well as the North End Extrusion (NEXT), Flexi, and Woodwright Plants. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker that has a passion for working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, material flow, facilities, supply chain systems, and logistics. Additionally, a successful candidate must effectively build relationships and tackle ambiguity to provide clarity and effectively communicate various project needs, goals, and move sequences to a wide range of stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Plan provides a critical value to Bayport Operations by delivering the manufacturing floor space needed for department and enterprise key initiatives. The Site Plan Engineer works both on the planning as well as the execution sides of high visibility projects. The role is a mix of direct and indirect project ownership by coordinating efforts across functional groups, working through others, and communicating to plant and enterprise leadership. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity.
- Partner with operations and manufacturing engineering leaders, supply chain, facilities, and logistics functions to manage site plan across multiple value-streams
- Assess current & future space needs to identify space enabling opportunities such as offsite storage, inventory reductions, work center consolidations and/or product line rationalizations
- Lead SLP (Site Layout Planning) events to identify and evaluate layout options using material flow analysis to determine the optimal solution
- Develop, define, and communicate costs and timing for move sequences needed to deliver desired footprint
- Lead Site Plan Committee meetings with Bayport Operations leaders to communicate and maintain alignment on the overall Site Plan
- Provide updates to the SVP of Mfg & Logistics and their team on overall Site Plan initiatives, project progress, and help needed
- Improve material and information flow across end-to-end connected operations
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree
- 3+ years of engineering or technical experience; 5+ years of experience preferred
- Strong AutoCAD skills with experience in building production floor layouts
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in collaborating with and influencing cross functional groups
- Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $88,000 - $136,000 annually.
