POSITION SUMMARY:

Machine operators may assemble or fabricate storm door parts. Must understand and participate in achieving departmental and company goals.

Job Summary

Successfully set up and operate complex equipment to meet quality, productivity, and safety goals.

POSITION PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Works within Standard work, control plans, work instructions and quality specifications to operate equipment, use measuring tools, and get defined output.

  • Select and install proper tooling and equipment required to produce desired parts.

  • Ensure accurate set-up following company practice and procedures.

  • Performs changeovers to defined standards to meet product specifications.

  • Select, inspect and machine material. Troubleshoot material and machine problems.

  • Participate in continuous improvement process and other lean initiatives.

  • Serve as a member of the manufacturing team, providing assistance as needed.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.

  • Must be able to read blueprints.

  • Basic reading, writing, and shop math skills are required including tolerances and angle measurements.

  • Must be able to use calipers, go and no-go gauges, tape rulers, protractors, square, hand and power tools.

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Dependability/punctuality.

POSITION MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be able to successfully complete internal skills testing.

  • High School Graduate/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be able to obtain Lock Out Tag Out certification upon hire.

POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY: 

  • Must be able to stand for 10 hrs

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs (Some position may require lifting up to 75 lbs.)

  • Ability to lift and maneuver bulky product.

  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, lift product throughout the assembly process.

COMPENSATION: 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. 

Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $20.33.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
