SUMMARY: Join our team as a Maintenance Technician where you’ll leverage your advanced troubleshooting skills to support and enhance our production equipment. You’ll be a key advocate for electrical safety, utilizing your deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 79) and advanced electrical/mechanical systems. Your expertise in PLCs, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, and MES equipment integration will be crucial in maintaining and upgrading our machinery. Additionally, you’ll play a vital role in training and mentoring other technicians, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of technical excellence. PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing maintenance support to a manufacturing line at our Andersen Windows location in Locust Grove, GA. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Multi-skilled electrical mechanical technician with advanced competency troubleshooting and supporting production equipment
Trained on all electrical hazards and is an advocate for our electrical safety programs
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with issues of intermediate complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems (PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of internal networks and MES equipment integration
Understands the National Electrical Code (NFPA 79) to enforce code that applies to all electrical installations
Advanced usability of volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM), vacuum tube volt ohmmeters (VTVM), field effect transistor volt-ohm-millimeters (FETVOM) and digital multimeters to measure DC current, DC voltage, AC voltage and resistance
Advanced understanding and demonstration of Drive Systems, Lineal Systems, Actuating and Clamping Systems
Advanced understand of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, schematics, and the operation of all components
Advanced knowledge and use of hand tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all test equipment used to perform all Multi-trade repairs of production equipment as well as dust collection and material handling equipment (pallet lifts and fork trucks).
Evaluate equipment for any repairs, enhancements, or upgrades and complete work as needed
Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, and document finished work
Machine implementation including, rigging, leveling, facilities (air, hydraulics, dust collection and safety) along with testing and modifying as needed to prepare machine for production
Fabrication and installation of all needed fixturing, guarding and any machine parts needed. This included one or more of the following: design, layout, sheet metal work, welding, machine shop work, carpentry and painting
Repair of pneumatic drills and screw guns, routers, saw motors and bearing assemblies for lineal slides and spindles
Assist in the deployment of TPM objectives
Multi-skilled technician providing focused competency maintenance support, mechanically proficient and demonstrated technical expertise in a specific specialized maintenance function
Ability to train fundamentals of metal fabrication; Welding, Manual Mill and Lathe, Sheet Metal Fabrication
Understand advanced and complex functions of production CNC machining equipment.
Able to reengineer equipment for more efficiency and reliability
Demonstrate technical expertise/knowledge and utilize effective root cause analysis methods
Directs and provides leadership/mentoring/coaching of other technicians
Continuing job-related education is required
Technical Expert, Technical Lead, Subject Matter Expert

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

2 Year degree or equivalent
10 Years experience in related fields
Ability to trouble shoot and resolve problems related to PLC and electromechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to troubleshoot under pressure on all lines of production and be able to prioritize the repairs
Ability to read prints including mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and building prints
Ability to properly use testing equipment including (electrical, mechanical and fluid power)
Be able to support production by yourself and be self-motivated
Strong Communication skills, time management, organizational and prioritization skills
Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation
Strong knowledge of PLC ‘s and electrical principles
Broad knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Knowledge of plumbing, machine piping, HVAC and central dust collection
Knowledge and use of hand, power, shop tools and equipment associated with the position
Knowledge of safety practices such as lockout/tagout and proper use of PPE
Be able to work alone as well as in a team environment
Be familiar with Panel building and machine building practices and techniques
Multi-skilled technician satisfied by demonstrated technical expertise in advanced maintenance functions
Ability to manage vital maintenance functions to maximize corporate assets

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $34.80 - $43.51 hourly.
