In partnership with the supervisor, and/or other team leads, our Value Stream Team Lead I roles support the management of daily operations for a larger work area or a smaller more complex work area, including providing daily work direction to the assigned team. This role is accountable for tracking work area performance and leading team to accomplish established SQDCP goals, including the expectation to identify problems/constraints and drive for resolution through Continuous Improvement processes and lean manufacturing principles. This role also provides feedback, coaches / trains, completes audits, and resolves simple operational or people issues.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify daily operational performance issues and partner with team and functional groups to triage issues, develop and execute solutions to maintain quality and efficient performance
- Partner with internal and external groups and/or support teams to maintain the pulse on upstream and supply / demand needs; coordinate cross functionally to proactively address issues to maintain efficient performance
- Manage the interdependencies, such as information flow, ongoing follow up, and on time updates on delivery between manufacturing and functional groups across the value stream
- Collect, interpret, and communicate to team operational performance results as well as goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) KPIs
- Collaborate cross functionally to drive continuous improvement for assigned work area. In partnership with supervisor and others, see continuous improvement projects through completion within quality, timeliness, and budget goals
- Support, coordinate, and assist with delivering employee training for a complex work area or a subsection of a complex work area. Assumes responsibility for peer and/or employee development, mentorship, and role modeling performance
- Participates in and may lead (and/or facilitate) Continuous improvements activities such as (Kaizen, A3, 5S, etc.) or events by actively identifying the problem state, scope, current state analysis, as well as delivering the objectives and outcomes and/or action items of the event
- Participates in multi causal analysis (MCA), in safety incident investigations, and completes corrective actions after an incident has occurred
- Completes, coordinates, or contributes to standard work documents, leader standard work, workstation standard work, and job breakdown analysis (JBA), and control plans. In partnership with support functions, performs audits in the areas of safety, standard work, cycle time, plan vs. actual (productivity) and quality
- Partner with supervisors and other leads on daily staffing assignments. Leverage existing tools to support placement or movement of staff to maximize throughput for assigned work area
- Responsible for having a working knowledge of all stations within an assigned work area in a safe, quality, and productive manner, as required
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 2+ years manufacturing or related leadership experience preferred
- Proficiency in computer systems (MS Office) preferred
- Successful completion of the Value Stream Team Lead Development Program preferred
- White / Orange belt or Lean Sigma training preferred
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates for the VSTL I role are expected to earn $21.80 to $31.60 per hour.
