Director, Business Unit Leader drives the organization’s strategic vision and operational excellence by developing and executing comprehensive business plans, fostering market growth, and ensuring exceptional product and customer management. The business unit leader holds end-to-end accountability for the unit’s success—owning the P&L and driving profitable growth through deep market insight, operational rigor, and organizational leadership. This role serves as the strategic and operational architect—shaping vision, enabling execution, and leading through values-aligned action.
POSITION PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic & Market Leadership
- Own and shape business strategy based on forward-looking insights, scenario planning, and market orientation.
- Demonstrate anticipatory intelligence—consistently scan the horizon for evolving customer needs, disruptive forces, and macroeconomic shifts.
- Define and refine differentiated value propositions that resonate with target customers and position the BU for long-term relevance.
2. Customer Centricity & Innovation
- Champion voice of customer integration across all functions.
- Embed market and customer intimacy into product development, service models, and commercial strategies.
- Drive innovation that creates value—balancing breakthrough opportunities with practical delivery and risk management.
3. Commercial & Financial Stewardship
- Full P&L ownership, with an emphasis on optimizing for sustainable margin and growth.
- Translate operational decisions into clear financial outcomes.
- Exercise disciplined trade-off management between short-term performance and long-term enterprise value.
- Construct clear commercial and financial arguments to support investment, pricing, and resource decisions.
4. Execution Excellence
- Operationalize strategic intent through structured operating models and performance management systems.
- Build and maintain operating disciplines that drive precision, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure rigorous execution through performance metrics, dashboards, and cross-functional governance.
5. Organizational Builder & Talent Developer
- Approach talent as a strategic asset—identify, develop, and deploy high-potential individuals to maximize business impact.
- Architect organizational structures aligned to strategic priorities.
- Foster a culture of trust, growth, and succession readiness.
- Lead through humility and expertise, creating space for others to thrive.
6. Enterprise Leadership & Collaboration
- Operate with an enterprise-first mindset—prioritize shared success over silo wins.
- Lead and align cross-functional teams across Finance, R&D, Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR, and IT to deliver integrated business outcomes.
- Serve as the connective tissue between functions—translating strategy into coordinated execution across the organization.
- Drive accountability and cohesion across matrixed teams to ensure clarity, speed, and impact in decision-making and delivery.
- Model and foster meaningful connections internally and externally to build community, alignment, and results.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
POSITION MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven success in account management roles spanning sales, marketing, product management, and retail merchandising.
- Working knowledge of national retail account operations and vendor management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment across stakeholders.
- Track record of delivering business growth and innovation in customer-focused environments.
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, financial drivers, and operational execution.
- Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
POSITION NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong ability to build trust and long-term relationships through demonstrated credibility and competence.
- Willingness and ability to learn residential construction practices and Andersen product specifications.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in both individual and group settings
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $144,080 - $230,520/year.
