POSITION SUMMARY:

Join the Centralized Services team that innovates, develops and executes product design prototypes within Research and Development. You will work closely with our design, quality, and manufacturing teams to create industry-leading high-performing durable product solutions on NPD and OPD projects. The individual for this role provides technical expertise to the fabrication of prototype window and door components that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations for function, performance, and durability. This position directly supervises a CNC programmer / operator, a Machinist, and a prototype Technician.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team of Technicians and Technologists to meet New Product Development and On-going Product Development goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical fabrication expertise of prototype window and door components to the OPD & NPT teams in RDI.
  • Provide quality and process expertise in qualification of new product development projects
  • Recommend and implement process and/or tooling improvements based on actual tooling performance.
  • Provide feedback on manufacturing requirements, including the process windows, design limitations, and material fabrication best practices necessary on development projects
  • Lead capital and site projects in the fabrication development center (i.e. CNC machining, industrial fabrication equipment and tooling).
  • Provide training and coaching to improve standard work, work center organization (5S), and housekeeping. Actively provide change leadership as required.
  • Take corrective action on safety incidents, machine downtime, or quality incidents that deviates from customer requirements.
  • Assist with cross-functional work on continuous improvement and safety projects.
  • Establish and help manage relationships with equipment vendors and internal suppliers.
  • Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging direct reports to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
  • Support your team in understanding company policies and practices. Take notice of process related problems and take corrective action to improve the overall performance of the team; maintain time and production records daily.
  • Communicate with and listen to your team daily regarding work team performance, strategic initiatives, policy changes, safety, quality, etc.; Communicate with other leaders and appropriate personnel regarding equipment, safety, work center schedules, company policies and practices, performance improvement plans, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • 4-year technical degree or equivalent combination of formalized technical education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with CNC machining, industrial fabrication equipment and tooling knowledge; processing composites, wood and metals
  • Strong commitment to be a highly collaborative servant leader
  • Experience delivering products from ideation through commercialization using a gated design review process
  • Advanced computer skills (i.e. AutoCAD, Inventor, Mastercam, MS Office Suite)
  • Possesses strong project leadership skills including communication, network building, and change management
  • Strong prioritization and multi-tasking capability
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving and process improvement
  • Self-motivated with very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

COMPENSATION: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $77,255 - $119,745.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
