SUMMARY
Data impacts everything we do at Andersen, and we are rapidly on our way to being a data-driven company but there is more to be done. The Data Operations team provides a comprehensive suite of integrated cloud-based platform technologies including Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, and Qlik that are core components of Andersen’s data and analytics ecosystem. We see an expansion of our services into Kafka and Terraform as well and need to augment our team with someone experienced as a Snowflake platform admin/architect to create and maintain a dependable, optimized environment for data engineers and users with a willingness to learn and support other platforms

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support Snowflake and other platforms within SLA guidelines including disaster recovery and ad hoc and proactive administrative and support activities.
  • Maintain Platform standards including naming, role-based access standards, warehouse usage, record retention policies and help implement and maintain an FinOps model
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams on evaluating new technologies
  • Partner with other platform admins to learn and support Fivetran and/or DBT
  • Enhance usage monitoring with dashboards and monitoring tools and use this information to help Snowflake users optimize their warehouse usage and SQL queries
  • Maintain key informational content, drive platform adoption, and champion a strong user community
  • Document knowledge in the form of incident notes, technical articles, and contributions to knowledge bases within specific areas of expertise.
  • Help new Snowflake applications or existing applications migrating to Snowflake with solution architecture that is best for a Snowflake implementation. Be well versed with unique Snowflake features such as Dynamic tables, Snowpipe Streaming, Snowpark, Hybrid tables, Data Sharing, Replication, Iceberg so they can be shown and suggested to be part of application architectures
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • This person will be part of a team that frequently does cross training across technologies and will be expected to share knowledge with others but will not have oversight nor provide work direction to others

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  •  5+ years demonstrated administration experience with Snowflake administration. 2 years' experience with one of the following: Fivetran, DBT, or Terraform
  •  3+ years' experience working with at least one type of relational database and SQL
  •  3+ years' experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (Azure Preferred)
  •  3+ year experience with software or data engineering or technical role experience, ideally involving a complex and rapidly evolving software/product
  • 2+ years hands-on experience and proficiency with DevOps and information tools – e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed

COMPENSATION

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $88,235 to $136,765 per year.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
