SUMMARY
In partnership with functional leaders, the Manufacturing Operations Manager is accountable for developing and executing strategic operational plans in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and talent. This is a highly visible role that is expected to serve as the face of our operations team when interfacing with business teams, senior leaders, external suppliers, and functional groups. A leader in this role sets the vision for the future and drives continuous improvement initiatives for assigned plant, elevating team performance and plant culture through proactive employee development and engagement.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Manage day-to-day operations of a large and complex plant comprised of multiple value streams and key functional areas. Achieve budgeted and strategic performance expectations in the areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people KPIs.
- Serve as business owner for plant: lead team through opportunity identification and strategic plan development. In partnership with functional support teams, define key improvement initiatives, establish a multi-year capital plan, and outline key operating targets in the areas of SQDCP. Leverage lean operating principles to achieve results. Execute plan, deliver strategic objectives, and capture margin improvement.
- Be highly visible to associates and create a safe environment for participation. Promote active/hands-on management to solve problems and promote high involvement approaches to problem solving.
- Manage within highly matrixed organizations while building and maintaining strong relationships with key corporate and functional support leaders. Influence business teams, functional groups, and corporate support teams to achieve business results for plant.
- Establish and maintain strong connectivity with internal sourcing and purchasing teams while developing relationships with key external suppliers to ensure operational issues are proactively identified, addressed, and improved.
- In alignment with functional leaders, set vision for work performance standards and metrics (safety quality, cost, delivery, people) and establish a cadence to monitor results against these standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet and / or exceed performance standards year over year.
- Lead teams through fiscal budget development and delivery of plan. Partner with Engineering on the design and execution of capital projects to drive greatest productivity and quality outcomes.
- In partnership with HR leaders, develop and ensure execution of comprehensive talent strategy aimed at the attraction, development, engagement, and retention of staff.
- Responsible for managing team through daily operational needs, ensuring alignment of activities and resources within plant. Develop leaders by providing coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and encouragement to promote the growth within team.
- Serve as operational liaison to product line business teams. Ensure operations has voice, influence, and connectivity regarding new products and market developments. Partner effectively to operationalize product line changes.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operational Leadership, or comparable field. Master's Degree in Business Administration or comparable field preferred.
- 10+ years experience leading large and complex manufacturing operations
- 5+ years experience leading Lean manufacturing projects
- 5+ years experience partnering with functions to develop and deliver large capital projects ($500M+)
- Experience building and executing strategic plans to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and talent for a large manufacturing operation
- Experience presenting complex topics, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership teams
- Experience partnering with health and safety teams to develop and implement strategies to improve workplace safety performance
- Demonstrated experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and financial justification (IRR / ROI)
- Experience articulating engineering and quality requirements, collaborating cross functionally, and executing project plans to improve manufacturing performance
- Experience facilitating Kaizen events and developing daily management systems
- Experience leading others and developing leaders
SALARY INFORMATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $131,540 to $210,460 per year.
