We are looking for a Quality Engineering Lead/Supervisor to join our Window Plant Wood and Coatings team that supports our nine paint lines and milling operations. The primary focus is to ensure the adherence to quality control specifications, drive continuous improvement, and lead a quality team to achieve high standards in the manufacturing processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop a quality vision and strategy for the Wood and Coatings value stream and manage a team of quality professionals to implement that vision.
Foster a continuous improvement culture and support lean manufacturing implementations.
Develop strategic direction for the quality team and translate strategy into actionable projects.
Provide coaching, feedback, and development to team members, promoting career growth opportunities.
Perform root cause analysis to identify sources of variation and process problems, using Statistical Process Control to reduce process variation and structured problem solving, utilizing DMAIC tools.
Interface with Product Design, Product Engineering, Tooling Design, and other business partners to ensure manufacturability and process capability of new and revised products.
Develop and maintain quality systems, programs, training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for critical production processes.
Conduct regular meetings with internal and external customers to discuss current issues and proposed changes.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or a similar field.
Knowledge of quality programs, SPC, process capability, and lean manufacturing principles.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to present and articulate quality programs, continuous improvement methodologies, and problem-solving techniques effectively.
Nice-to-Have:
5+ years of quality experience and 2+ years of experience leading a team or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Experience gathering and analyzing data using statistical techniques.
Proficiency in implementing process control charting.
Familiarity with computer software tools such as Excel or Minitab for data analysis.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
A desire for personal growth and development.
