Quality engineering position responsible for manufacturing quality support in Dubuque, IA. Perfect for someone who cares about our customers, enjoys working on a high performing team of engineers and technicians, solving problems, and relentlessly improving processes and products. You will work with quality, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, product development, and our suppliers to ensure that our products conform to standards and exceed our customers’ expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides quality leadership to ensure that the products produced meet quality requirements defined by the company to both internal and external customers.
- Participate in cross functional tier meetings and responsible for quality metrics and actions.
- Possess ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving.
- Directly collaborate with the suppliers to create corrective action plans to address process failures.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert into manufacturing control plans, work instructions, and audit processes.
- Work with Design and Plant Engineering teams to define product critical characteristics to ensure supplier process capability is effective.
- Advocate for the “Voice of Customer” through control plans and other quality documentation.
- Developing process validation plans, test methods, and documentation strategies.
- Lead cross-functional team meetings, kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions.
SKILLS:
- Ability to quickly adapt and reprioritize tasks to address emerging high-priority issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely across cross-functional teams in person and digitally.
- Utilize: PDCA, A3, FMEA, 5-Why, Lean Sigma, DMAIC, CAPA, RCCA, Error Proofing, Eyes for Waste, Visual Management.
- Strong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities through statistical techniques.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of FMEA, SPC, process capability, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems.
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $69,529 - $107,771 annually.
