SUMMARY:
 
Product Development Engineer II acts as team leader for smaller projects or as team member for portions of more difficult and complex projects. Performs work that leads to new product processes or systems with technical differentiation and significant business contributions. Designs, collects, analyzes, and reports on experimental studies and/or new technologies. Shows independent creativity and initiative for new business or organizational contributions. Contributes significantly to discussions and decisions on overall project objectives with managers and other functional areas.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Focus is on coordinating and leading all or most activities on comprehensive and technically challenging projects/assignments.
  • Understands concepts of corporate identity and business needs as applied to projects/assignments
  • Fully develop multiple concepts relating to satisfying a customer need, and support all viable solutions to arrive at an optimum solution for customers and the corporation.
  • Capable of leading cross-functional teams having broader less defined initial objective and scope.
  • Develop and present reports summarizing technical analysis and business case to peer group and management audiences.
  • Effective communications with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.
  • Analyze and recommend engineering or design solutions to product, process, design, or other technical issues.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4 year degree in Engineering
  • Strong aptitude in process improvement, problem solving, and project management
  • Strong knowledge of lean, manufacturing, design, and quality systems
  • 3-5 years engineering or technical experience
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience as design or project lead of a cross functional engineering team
  • 3D CAD experience with Inventor or equivalent software
  • Experience working through a gated design review process
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, drawing, and quality standards
  • Effective technical presentation and communication skills
SALARY INFORMATION: 
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
