SUMMARY:  The Market Development Manager is primarily responsible for developing business in the market through the successful execution of sales objectives.  Cultivate incremental sales through strong market intelligence and the development of strong business relationships within the community.  This position will work in collaboration with the sales team, and all APBS business units to capitalize on viable market opportunities.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive and cultivate strong business relationships with builder, contractor & architect trade partners whose segment focus is conducive to APBS’s product & service portfolio.
  • Cost effectively drive opportunity generation and local awareness through the following sales & marketing tactics: events/shows, showrooms, builder & architect association partnerships, community groups, company-created events and more.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the market including top trade customers, competitive products, competitive dealers, and service.
  • Manages the department calendar including negotiating with event sponsors and outside vendors to procure space and to obtain the best value for our investment. Oversees participation in events, sponsorships, association partnerships and creation of lead-generation opportunities based on established objectives, including on-site administration, resource supervision, and other implementation details. Expense and P&L management of events and showroom expenses; control spend within budget to achieve goals.
  • Work collaboratively with sales team to ensure derived opportunities are effectively executed.
  • Utilize customer management and sales reporting tools to effectively report and assess results of market activities. Communicate results and future strategy with management.
  • Collaborate with partners (Sales, Project Management, Installation, Marketing) within APBS to drive results and to enhance products, services & tools necessary to grow share in the market.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Four year degree in Architectural Design, Construction Management, Business or a related field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge/experience in the building industry, dealer channel and window competitive landscape within designated market is preferred.
  • Knowledge of architectural design, residential/commercial construction processes and an ability to interpret specifications and architectural drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong business relationships with trade customers, channel partners and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak to large groups using multiple delivery methods.
  • Evidence of strong analytical and fact-based planning skills.
SALARY INFORMATION:

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
