PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing technical support to a manufacturing line at our Andersen Windows location in Locust Grove, GA. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, and maintenance to solve issues
  • Troubleshoot problems with other technical employees, suppliers, and outside experts
  • Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving
  • Create training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes
  • Provide training, instruction, and guidance to production associates
  • Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and events
  • Present technical information or proposals to team members
  • practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk
  • Offer assistance/mentor for less experienced technical employees
  • Conduct testing related to introducing product improvements into the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for supporting the implementation and stabilization of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-year technical degree 
  • 4+ years of technical experience preferred with mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
  • Some travel during on-boarding would be valuable, primary location Cottage Grove, MN

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
