Andersen is looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer to join our Patio Door Engineering team! Primary responsibilities are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives through continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity. Candidates for this role should have a strong technical aptitude, willingness to learn in a hands-on environment and have a strong bias for action.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a Manufacturing Engineer in our Bayport patio door plant, supporting multiple milling lines, responding to day to day production needs such as equipment troubleshooting and quality concerns
- Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements within the value-stream through new process and technology development
- Use a data-based approach and tools to solve complex technical problems with practical solutions (i.e., design of experiments, process mapping, process capability analysis, FMEA, etc.)
- Develop and execute improvements in alignment with strategic vision of modernizing equipment and processes
- Manage the design, procurement, and startup of capital equipment projects
- Travel as needed within the USA. Up to 10% travel
- Effectively communicate at all levels of internal and external customers
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 year degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering preferred)
- Open to varying levels of experience, prefer 5+ years milling process engineering experience
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated track record of scientific and data-based problem-solving skills
- Equipment procurement experience preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and process capability
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $88,235 - $136,765 annually.
