SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing engineering support to a manufacturing line at our Renewal by Andersen location in Cottage Grove, MN. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes
- Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream.
- Plan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusion
- Create training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability
- Identify causes of process variation utilizing the scientific method and recommend and drive corrective action
- Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving
- Ensure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans
- Accurately assess ergonomic conditions within the manufacturing environment and provide practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk
- Exhibit persuasiveness to sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partners

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative cross-functional teams
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical and process improvement aptitude
- Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
