POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Andersen Corporation is seeking an Industrial Engineer at our Bayport, MN location. This position is responsible for providing Industrial Engineering support to the Patio Door Plant by driving the process of continuous improvement and the design of integrated systems of people, equipment, & materials.  The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence. This role is located at our Patio Door Plant in Bayport, MN.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream
  • Assess current & future capacity requirements by utilizing marketing forecasts, value stream mapping, and capacity planning methodologies
  • Identify causes of process variation utilizing the scientific method and recommend corrective action
  • Implement effective material flow concepts and pull systems with special attention to parts presentation to improve manufacturing productivity
  • Teach and coach problem solving methodologies that drive to identifying root cause
  • Accurately assess ergonomic conditions within the manufacturing environment and provide practical solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk
  • Exhibit persuasiveness to sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partners. Demonstrates the ability to communicate technical information in a confident & respectful manner. Act as a Lean leader and change advocate
  • Direction of others:
    • Act as facilitator to direct work teams in the design of lean processes
    • Mentor developing engineers, interns, and team members


QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology
  • 5-10 years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in collaborating with and influencing cross functional groups across enterprise
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships
  • Experience with change management strategies


COMPENSATION: 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $99,216 - $153,784.

PROFIT SHARING:

In 2025, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
