DESCRIPTION:
Engineering interns will have the opportunity to learn and work within Andersen Corporation’s various Engineering functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Product Development Engineering Intern Job Description:
- Design and develop components and assemblies
- Manage projects with little supervision to develop and maintain timing and cost
- Verify designs with testing and requirements defined in the Andersen Product Development Stage Gate process
- Support the project team in the building of new model test / pilot units
New Product Technology Engineering Intern Job Description:
- Develop new processes, materials and technologies
- Evaluate product life performance in the field and accelerated weathering
- Manage projects with little supervision to develop and maintain timing and cost
- Verify new technologies with testing and requirements defined in the Andersen Technology Development Stage Gate process utilizing Six Sigma.
Manufacturing Engineering Intern Job Description:
- Optimize productivity through the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma manufacturing methodology
- Manage projects with little supervision to develop and maintain timing and cost
- Redesign work plans and work stations to reduce ergonomic risk
- Conduct strategic logistics planning for both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products.
Quality Engineering Intern Job Description:
- Understand customer feedback and drive quality improvements in the manufacturing process.
- Gather and analyze data through statistical techniques while using computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert into manufacturing control plans and work instructions.
- Manage projects with little supervision to develop and maintain timing and cost.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Experience with application of engineering principles
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, AutoCAD or similar CAD experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with ability to work on multiple projects
- Project Management – PMBOK, Design of Experiment – DOE, Finite Element Analysis, Failures Modes Effects and Analysis, Design for Assembly, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma are all preferred qualifications
