Position Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will work productively with Maintenance, Engineering, contracted engineering, supervisory, and production personnel at all levels in a fully supportive relationship to contribute to effective manufacturing operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, Maintenance, and Repair:

  • You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment. This includes facilities, production machinery, and production support systems.
  • Equipment can span different technologies, such as computer-controlled, electrical, electronic, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Electrical Panel Building and Troubleshooting:

  • You’ll build electrical panels, run conduit, and wire systems. Troubleshooting skills are crucial for identifying and solving electrical equipment issues promptly.
  • Responding to emergencies and minimizing manufacturing equipment downtime will be part of your role.

Standard Operating Procedures and Documentation:

  • Develop, update, and adhere to maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain detailed work logs, recording labor, materials, and equipment used.
  • Update drawings and documentation following installation work (redlining).

Wiring and Modifications:

  • Wire machines and electrical panels according to prints and applicable codes (such as the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70).
  • Perform minor modifications to electrical systems based on work orders and descriptions.

Diagnostic Skills and Cost Evaluation:

  • Utilize a variety of tools and diagnostic devices to install, service, and evaluate electrical equipment.
  • Assess cost-effectiveness and feasibility of repair versus replacement.

Work Environment and Safety:

  • You’ll work in space-limited and confined areas, often around utility equipment.
  • Safety precautions include using ESD safety shoes, eyeglass side shields, and potentially other specialized safety equipment.

Flexibility and Overtime:

  • Be prepared for overtime, including nights and weekends, to meet work assignment deadlines.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by your supervisor or plant management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training:

  • Technical College Degree or Diploma in Electrical Construction or related Electronic fields.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 540 hours of documented military school in electrical studies.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read, understand, and update (red line) electrical prints.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic symbols and nomenclature.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and other relevant codes.

Communication and Documentation:

  • Possess superior communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Excellent documentation skills for maintaining accurate records.

Leadership and Teamwork:

·       Proven leadership skills in cross-functional project teams for equipment installations.

Practical Skills:

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools proficiently.
  • Physical capabilities: lifting, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) safely.
  • An excellent personal safety record (no lost time accidents in the past 24 months, personal incident rate <2.0) is preferred.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

·       Master Electrician license.

  

SALARY INFORMATION:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
