PURPOSE:
This position will focus on resolving any automation issues and leading moderately sized projects/assignments during either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift production operations. Increase shift differential compensation is available for working full or partial, 2nd or 3rd shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Positions in this job family are predominantly involved in conceiving, creating, evaluating, implementing, and continuously improving Andersen Corporation products and manufacturing processes
· Provide control system support to automated production lines
· Assist maintenance technicians with additional troubleshooting
· Train, mentor and encourage electromechanical technicians in troubleshooting, minor PLC modifications, electronic safety devices, and safe work methods
· Utilize problem solving skills to determine and address root cause as needed
· Lead and implement moderate machine program modifications as required for safety, quality, or productivity improvements
· Revise electrical schematics as needed
· Maintain electrical documentation for production machinery (schematics, bill of material, PLC/HMI programs, device configurations)
· Follow company procedures and specifications
· Ensure quality & safety standards are met; report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries per Andersen’s safety policy.
· Evaluate technology sufficient to meet improvement project requirements
· Complete electrical portion of corporate safety assessments as needed
· Position requires after-hours (on-call) control system support for 24/5 production on a rotational basis. May be waived if working 2nd or 3rd shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Experience with basic electrical components such as sensors, motors, indicators, circuit protection, etc
· Experience with Rockwell Automation RsLogix 500/5000 and Studio5000 programming software
· Experience reading electrical schematics
· Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or Mechanical Desktop
· Design and test basic safety and control systems using relays, PLC/HMI programming, VFDs and/or servo motion
· Design in equipment reliability and maintainability features
· Partner with internal teams or outside vendors to resolve/improve automated equipment
· Self-motivated and able to learn quickly; being able to work independently and on a team depending on the situation
· Demonstrates ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty
· Good oral and written communication skills

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
