POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a full-time, self- starter with the desire to learn and produce drawing packages. This person needs to be structured, organized, highly dependable, team-oriented, and supportive. Employee should take great pride in their work. They must possess excellent listening, mathematical skills, technical aptitude, and work under pressure. It is a challenging and rewarding work environment which is rapidly growing. Ability to create and modify CAD models and custom specifications. Customer approvals, grille alignment, production packets, and other CAD needs for delivery partners and customers. To maintain and ensure expected standards and best practices are being followed during model creation. Responds to customer/delivery partner requests/inquiries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies CAD expertise and knowledge in the creation and delivery of product drawings both in 2D and 3D for use by manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners and end use customers.
- Works closely with Customer Service Representatives, RD&I, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Suppliers and customers to define requirements and provide timely and accurate solutions.
- Identify, recommend and implement team improvements.
- Provides proactive support of the team’s CAD support tools.
- Collaborates with manufacturing team to troubleshoot issues by physically inspecting product and adjusting supporting detail drawings
- Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of the team’s CAD drafting standards, documentation processes and document storage methods.
- Review key performance indicators (KPI’s) and recommend adjustments.
- Stays abreast of current CAD and architectural technologies and prioritizes their application to Andersen’s CAD support services.
- Represents the team by proactively securing and reinforcing customer relationships and process improvement opportunities in alignment with department strategies.
- Assists with presentations and training sessions to share technical and process knowledge with manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners and end use customers.
- Participate in training sessions related to customer service, product, process, and technical capability.
- Additional work to be established, prioritized, and reviewed by Specialist or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates level degree in architectural technology or related field and a minimum of two years of related work experience; or a minimum of four years of experience in construction and/or window industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associates or Technical Degree in Drafting/CAD or related area of work (1-3 years)
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years’ experience in drafting or related work
- Demonstrates a strong interest and basic aptitude to work in a technical or scientific field
- Fenestration Knowledge preferred
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 2D and 3D solid modeling CAD Skills
- Design fundamentals
- Advance skills in AutoCAD and Solidworks software
- Working knowledge of a Product Data Management system.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Project Management tools

COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $26.50/hr and $38.40/hr.
PROFIT SHARING:
In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
