PURPOSE:

Andersen Storm Door Division is seeking a Quality Manager at our Luray, VA location. The purpose of this position is to develop a quality vision and strategy for the Luray Storm Woodcore Door Plant by identifying, influencing, and leading quality efforts across all aspects of the business, and manage staff to implement that vision. This role also serves as the key link into the Andersen enterprise quality organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy in our divisional goals.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain the division's quality strategies and objectives in alignment with the enterprise vision over both the short and the long term.
  • Manage actions directed toward total cost of quality, initial quality, warranty, air/water/structural, and the perfect order specific to the division.
  • Implement and manage non-conformance and error-proofing techniques, providing best practice knowledge to manufacturing team.
  • Collaborate with other departments during planning and process improvement activities to ensure timely completion of all operational areas’ objectives and milestones.
  • Establish organizational partnerships to improve our overall effectiveness of delivering the highest level of value.
  • Continuously monitor product and process trends for changes in quality or related issues over the course of time.
  • Build and actively coach a team of quality technicians, developing talent for the next generation of quality leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Engineering/technical quality management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Quality management systems, quality tools and production processes.
  • Must be able to develop and improve concepts, techniques, and standards and new applications based on quality principles and theories.
  • Well versed in QA process and methodologies with an ability to adapt according to the needs of the business.
  • Experience with project planning tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Profit Sharing

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. These and other terms and conditions of Andersen’s 2022 Profit Sharing Plan, including the definition of full vaccination against COVID-19, are subject to change or termination without notice.
