Manufacturing Engineering Technician II/III

Primary responsibilities in manufacturing are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives through continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes in a hands on and collaborative role. 

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements within the value-stream
  • Support of 100 Series fabrication and assembly operations focused on improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
  • Work closely with engineers, production supervisors, team leads, and production employees to problem solve and implement solutions
  • Majority of time will be spent on the production floor engaged in direct hands on support
  • Create and modify process documentation such as standard work, lock out tagout procedures, machine safeguarding inventories, etc.
  • Execution of test plans and associated data collection
  • Develop/fabricate prototype fixtures, carts, and specialized tools
  • Lead and manage improvement projects following A3 methodology and sound project management skills
  • Identify opportunities for error proofing and implement solutions
  • Respond to day to day production needs such as equipment troubleshooting and quality concerns
  • Be highly visible within the value stream to create a safe environment for collaboration and participation
  • Promote a hands on, high involvement approach to problem solving

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to find and utilize data for driving improvement
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality programs and initiatives, SPC and process capability, along with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity and comfort with hand tools and basic power tools
  • Dependability/punctuality
  • Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates continued personal growth and development

PROFIT SHARING:

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter.
