ROLE DESCRIPTION:

To supervise a cost-effective maintenance program of preventative and corrective maintenance integrated with plant operations to minimize unscheduled equipment downtime. The maintenance supervisor will achieve this goal by following the established maintenance model and assisting with developing maintenance programs throughout Garland manufacturing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Responsible for managing and leading the maintenance crew, in close coordination with the operations and Quality team to ensure optimal line readiness and proper support during production hours.

·       Constantly promote and improve a culture of safety, including participation in committees and teams, where applicable.

·       Coach and mentor direct reports, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. Communicate performance standards and expectations to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.

·       Utilize systems and data to provide department leaders and teams with the necessary information to drive improvement, and collaborate with quality, operations, engineering, and supply chain departments to efficiently meet business targets.

·       Manage continuous improvement initiatives by use of Lean tools, with a focus on equipment reliability through PM development and refinement.

·       Ensure that all necessary systems are in place to execute the work order system, planning and scheduling, and preventive maintenance activities.

·       Establish, justify, monitor, analyze, and manage maintenance budgets.

·       Perform long-range planning to forecast maintenance needs.

·       Discuss and coordinate major maintenance and capital projects with engineering.

·       Collaborate with and assist engineers in project design and implementation.

·       Establish relationships with vendors. Negotiate prices and contracts, order materials and supplies, and receive materials.

·       Oversee all work or services performed by outside vendors and contractors.

·       Assist in preparing major equipment bids, recommending purchase when replacement or new equipment is required. Represent the company’s position and interest in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants. 

·       Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Andersen Corporation business objectives.

QUALIFICATION:                                                                                                                                       

·       Leadership Skills – ability to provide direction, aid, and be a role model to those on the maintenance staff. Experience leading and working with personnel in areas of development and coaching, career opportunities, performance evaluations, direct feedback, staffing plans, recruitment, and employee conflict resolution.

·       Analytical Skills – able to analyze data for trends and signals which will drive improvement opportunities within the business.

·       Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

·       Must be a highly organized, self-motivated person who can work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.

·       Experience working within a Lean Manufacturing concept and TPM environment.

·       Strong ability to communicate with and influence all levels of an organization.

·       Demonstrated experience with change management.

·       Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)

·       Technical abilities include knowledge of troubleshooting within areas of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and fabrication.

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

·       Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

·       Maintenance management experience desired.
