Position Purpose

Under the direction of Enterprise Safety and Environmental Services Director, overseeing all environmental and energy based initiatives and leading the corporate staff.  Design projects that lead to environmental protection, reduced emissions, waste minimization, energy conservation, recycling and related activities to positvely impact corporate performance. Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and regulatory documents utilizing various engineering principles.



Lead the Enterprise Environmental strategy by providing direction on environmental issues for enterprise business units.  Assure environmental staff have the knowledge, skills, abilities and resources necessary to perform their jobs.


Manage the development and implementation of short and long term environmental plans to improve performance and promote stewardship.  Assures systems are developed and implemented to meet the Enterprise’s environmental regulatory requirements.


Manage enterprise energy conservation  strategy in auditing, project identification, action planning, financing and execution.  Manage energy procurement and seek out rate structures to minimize energy costs. Seek external rebate programs and credits to maximize returns on energy conservation investments.


Manage the design and execution of the Corporate Environmental Management System (EMS). Perform site audits to monitor EMS conformance, communicate results and assure completion of corrective action plans. 


Lead Pollution Prevention and Waste Reduction initiatives. Steer Enterprise to focus on programs that maximize efficiency, increase product durability, reduce costs and promote environmental stewardship.


Serve as the Enterprise Environmental spokesperson communicating environmental status to executive management, department management, legal counsel and governing body regulators.  Represent Business Units at environmental negotiations and regulatory inquiries. Assure environmental issues and compliance inquiries are promptly addressed. 


Lead the management of energy and environmental database systems and metrics.  Generate performance indicator reports on performance.


Provide Enterprise direction for the safe use, handling and storage of chemical materials. Assure chemical process systems are engineered to meet operational and regulatory requirements while ensuring a safe work environment.  




Describe oversight, guidance and/or work direction provided and type of positions being directed (employees, contractors, etc.).  Then TAB to the next section.

Manages Environmental professional staff and use of external environmental legal counsel, consultants and contractors.  Function as Subject Matter Expert in providing direction to Enterprise Business Unit Management and employees.

Qualifications - External



  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in environmental engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience including supervision of others and developing strategic management plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental regulations and chemical process codes
  • Ability to represent enterprise at environmental negotiations and regulatory inquiries.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex environmental and engineering issues and lead groups in cross-functional team activities.
  • Ability to direct, lead and train off-site facility contacts on enterprise issues (environmental, engineering, regulaltory inspections, and capital expenditure policies and procedures)
  • Comprehension of corporate financial statements and capital expenditure process.
  • Manage legal issues involving environmental compliance and chemical safety.
During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. These and other terms and conditions of Andersen’s 2022 Profit Sharing Plan, including the definition of full vaccination against COVID-19, are subject to change or termination without notice.
