The CAD Designer generates 3D models and assemblies for moderate to complex product designs with basic to moderate engineering direction while considering the needs of other business areas such as manufacturing, material process and environmental impacts. The CAD Designer leverages other technologies such as tolerance analysis, FEA modeling and rapid prototyping to turn ideas into solutions. 



·       Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas and options based on preliminary product design intent

·       Complete assignments of all complexities, converting the engineers’ preliminary product design ideas into working 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings while maintaining standards

·       Ensure the product information database is accurately maintained

·       Perform tolerance analysis on individual parts, sub-systems and full units. 

·       Take appropriate action to resolve details not completely defined

·       Identify and schedule deliverables, milestones and required tasks required for projects and take corrective action to achieve timelines

·       Develop physical prototype parts from CAD geometry




·       2-year associates degree in engineering or technology with 3+ years’ experience preferred

·       Proficient 3D solid modeling CAD skills with design fundamentals

·       Working knowledge of basic design analysis tools and working knowledge of material characteristics and tooling concepts

·       Proven capabilities to troubleshoot problems with other technical employees, suppliers and outside experts

·       Strong communications skills: written and verbal.


·       Experience in an engineering or research environment

·       Posses a Society of Manufacturing Engineering Certificate

·       Demonstrates effective presentation skills

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
