PURPOSE: 

The Andersen Menomonie Engineering team is seeking an individual with strong organizational skills to support current production lines. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. Secondary focus will be on developing, implementing new processes, and supporting product line extensions.

The purpose of this role is to lead high visibility, high impact Lean Six-Sigma projects within the Menomonie plant, including both transactional business process projects and operations projects. This is a developmental Black Belt role that will work through an established Black Belt skills model, and participate in frequent and ongoing education sessions and project presentation practice forums. Additionally, this role integrates with the Andersen corporate Lean Sigma group to develop and deploy Lean and Six Sigma knowledge, culture, principles, tools and techniques across the corporation.  Provide leadership, technical and cultural guidance, consulting, and coaching in Lean Six Sigma principles and tools individuals at all levels within the Menomonie Assembly Plant. A primary objective of the Black Belt is to attain Black Belt certification by the end of their 2 to 3 year black belt experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute high impact Lean-Six Sigma projects, as well as lead individuals and cross-functional teams using Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
  • Work with Tier IV leadership to facilitate the development and maintenance of an opportunity hopper for the Menomonie site to maximize annual hard margin value contribution. 
  • Work closely with production supervisors, team leads, and production employees to perform problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Utilize sound project management tools for complex projects and key initiatives
  • Manage the design, procurement, and startup of capital equipment projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, other)

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in process improvement, supply chain, quality, or business process development
  • Perform in a tactful, professional and flexible manner with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and opinions with a strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.  
  • Strategic thinking and change management capabilities
  • Drive results through persuasiveness and influencing skills; organize self and others with timely follow through and execution
  • Build highly effective relationships, develop people, and create high-performing teams
  • Looking for varying levels of experience
  • Familiarity with DMAIC process (Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability
  • Energy, passion, and drive to deliver results

PROFIT SHARING:

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
