2022 RDI Summer Technician requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in a 2- year or 4-year post-secondary technical education program
  • Typical summer employment May - September
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma
  • Successfully complete the pre-employment processes
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday (6:00am – 2:30pm / 2:00pm – 10:30pm)
  • Work occasional overtime as needed

2022 RDI Summer Technician Position Descriptions:

Test Wall - Install window & door units per installation methods, building wood buck fixtures and ensuring nominal installs are plumb, level, square. Perform window & door tests. Collect the testing data in network folders using Excel spreadsheets.  The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Carpentry, Construction, Machine Tool-CNC or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

Chemical Lab - Performing chemical laboratory and physical tests (eg: X-ray Fluorescence Analyzers, Spectrophotometers, ASOMAs, Rheometer, Colorimeters).  The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related scientific discipline from an accredited institution.

Development Center – Building the next generation window and door prototypes using CNC’s, saws, routers, and other shop equipment.  The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Cabinetmaking, Construction, Machine Tool, CNC Automation or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

Chamber Room / Mechanical Testing – Perform tensile, compression, bend, peel, tear, shear, and other mechanical tests using specialized machines. The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
