Primary focus is on learning the maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning focused on developing maintenance skills and abilities. This is a technical role that will require basic mechanical and electrical skills to support the Andersen Window and Door Business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Strong focus on customer service
· Understand safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks
· Know and practice respectful workplace behavior
· Understand LOTO
· Assist Maintenance team members in the troubleshooting and maintenance of operations equipment
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Understand basic concepts of electricity including voltage, current, and resistance
· Understand and operate a volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM) and non-contact voltage testers to properly test for energized electrical circuits
· Understand mechanical fastener types and related application and installation procedures; select and install various types of fasteners
· Handle, dispense and apply various types of lubricants
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
· First semester completed in a maintenance discipline.
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Basic knowledge of print reading
· Understand mechanical fastener types, application and installation procedures. Select and install various types of fasteners
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
· Understand mechanical fastener types, application and installation procedures. Select and install various types of fasteners.
· Understand types, properties, storage, handling and application of basic lubricants, and the use of typical lubricant charts.
· Understand pneumatic and hydraulic system diagrams and the operation of all components of valve bank systems with the ability to troubleshoot.
· Working knowledge of troubleshooting process for mechanical equipment and systems.
· Understand types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings
· Arc, MIG and TIG weld, braze, solder and cut metal
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY:
· Occasionally lift/carry objects up to 100 pounds to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc.
· Occasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance
· Requires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating (includes right and left hands)
· Outside work required
· Working with various chemicals
· High work from, ladders and platforms
· Working in confined space conditions
· Wearing the proper PPE
· Working near energized electric circuits
· Working near/on hot equipment/materials
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $7.25-$23.25.
