PURPOSE:

Provide strong technical and leadership ability to maintain the logistics facility, infrastructure, grounds and equipment in a safe and productive manner. Supply complete understanding of all aspects of maintenance and facility metrics/goals while providing support with maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment in a cost-effective manner.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and repair building, grounds and equipment by performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, plumbing, heating, and mechanical repair tasks.
  • Inspect, adjust and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including forced air furnaces, air conditioning units and exhaust fans.
  • Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilers, faucets and pipes; clear obstructions from water and sewer lines.
  • Repair and install electrical and lighting fixtures and circuits.
  • Install and repair warehouse racking and storage assemblies.
  • Inspect and maintain fire protection equipment, including: fire extinguishers; ESFR sprinkler, pumps and valves; smoke and fire detectors, and alarms systems.
  • Inspect, maintain and repair a variety of equipment, including dock plates, trailer locks, air compressors, generators, stretch wrappers, slip sheet applicators and power tools.
  • Coordinate and occasionally conduct repair work on power industrial equipment.
  • Change, repair and maintain lift truck batteries and battery handling equipment.
  • Maintain inspection, repair and maintenance records. Including management of preventative and predictive plans.
  • Keep a complete and accurate inventory of spare parts, re-order parts and supplies as needed. Work with business leaders to identify critical spares & reduce risk by managing inventories.
  • Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
  • Attend required meetings as single point of maintenance contact for management and production leads.
  • Accountability for PM’s, CI cards, projects and maintenance work completed in production areas.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical functions including mechanical drives, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic power, plumbing, PLC’s and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls, servo or frequency controllers, safety circuits such as E-stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and safety switches.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-direct activities.
  • Knowledge and use of testing equipment, hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Support maintenance buyer when necessary by contacting vendors, ordering parts, and keeping inventory of replacement parts on hand for all equipment.
  • Machine installation - including, rigging, leveling, facilities (electrical, air, process fluids, dust collection and safety) along with testing and modifying as needed to prepare machine for production.
  • Participating in the Continuous Improvement Process. Strong ability to coach warehouse associates to foster a continuous improvement culture.
  • Repair of pneumatic power tools.
  • Demonstrate and encourage open communication among associates to ensure a positive work environment.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with engineering to implement design changes of equipment, jigs and fixturing for enhancement, upgrades or replacements. Including documenting machine revisions and updating machine prints.
  • Work with external contractors and 3rd party resources as needed.
  • Ensure maintenance shop is clean, safe and organized.
  • Strong support of Autonomous Maintenance objectives, including training for associates across all shifts.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires 5 - 8 years’ experience in a production plant or T&W environment with multi-craft maintenance functions.
  • Industrial 2 year maintenance electo-mechanical degree preferred.
  • Managerial experience 2 years preferred, lead the team on daily and weekly planning.
  • Collaboration skills to work with multiple departments to complete projects, tacks, duties, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong electrical background or licensed electrician.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and people to desired goals.
  • Broad knowledge of and Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems with PLC and electromechanical aspects of manufacturing and T&W equipment.
  • Proficient at reading and Interpreting mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and building prints.
  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Microsoft suite knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in using EAM.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to properly use testing equipment, hand, power and shop tools.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, machine piping, HVAC and dust collection, construction background.
  • Knowledge of facility fire suppression and control systems, compressed air systems and electrical distribution.
  • Always maintaining and coaching to meet safety and quality standards with all tasks undertaken by staff.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-starter.
  • An understanding of and support of lean operating systems.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, shifts, and weekends when needed.
  • Good organizational skills, communication skills, strong customer focus and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, working without direct supervision.
  • Ability to pick up and understand all job related functions, safety and quality requirements.
  • Job requires ability for extensive physical activity to include heaving lifting, climbing ladders and heights.
  • Strong safety awareness - lock out/tag out, right-to-know, arc flash, machine guarding and other procedures.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
