SUMMARY: Join our skilled team as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, where you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical functions and equipment, ensuring everything from mechanical drive units to safety circuits operates smoothly. You’ll use your skills to replace components, adjust and calibrate machinery, and perform preventive maintenance to keep our operations running efficiently. This role also involves evaluating and upgrading tools, performing fabrication and installation tasks, and maintaining inventory. Safety is our top priority, and you’ll follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout tagout and hazardous waste management. Be part of our continuous improvement projects and work closely with engineering to implement design changes and upgrades.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical functions and equipment, including some of the following: mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic powers, plumbing architectures, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and servo controllers, safety circuits which include E-stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and safety switches
  • Use of appropriate tools to replace components, adjust and calibrate machinery to resolve issues and restore equipment to operating condition quickly and efficiently
  • Understand and perform preventive maintenance on all machinery in a timely fashion, and document finished work, also assist in the deployment of TPM objectives
  • Evaluate equipment and tools for any repairs, enhancements, or upgrades including some of the following: pneumatic drills, screw guns, routers and saw motors
  • Perform and understand plumbing, carpentry, welding and painting
  • Perform fabrication and installation of fixturing, guarding and any machine parts needed; including some of the following: design, layout, sheet metal work, welding, machine shop work, carpentry and painting
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts
  • Perform furniture and equipment moves when needed
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all safety policies
  • Assure that all equipment is guarded
  • Follow all lockout tagout procedures
  • Assist with hazardous waste management
  • Participate in and sustain 5S activities
  • Working with departments on Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP)
  • Work with engineering to implement design changes of equipment, jigs and fixturing for enhancement upgrades or replacements
 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 2-year degree or equivalent and/or 5 years’ experience in a related industrial maintenance field
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills regarding some of the following: mechanical drives units, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic powers, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor and controls and servo system controllers, safety circuits, light curtains, safety relays and safety switches
  • Advanced maintenance skills: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, machine piping, HVAC and dust collection
  • PC knowledge for upgrading and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of machine functions via touch screen controls and machine operation software
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, fluid power, building, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and prints
  • Proficient at reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and prints
  • Working knowledge of electrical test equipment to measure current voltage and resistance.
  • Understanding of Hipot and Meggar meters

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
