Value Stream Team Lead II

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance), identify issues, engage the T1 team in problem resolution and understands when to escalate issues to T2 team, partnering with Value Stream Supervisor as appropriate.
· Provide coaching and facilitate training to develop employees within the cost center/value stream, following AMS principles.
· Coordinate production projects.
· Assists supervisor in administering discipline.
· Serve as a back-up to supervisor; leading department in supervisor’s absence.
· Assure provision of required materials.
· Integrate and communicate departmental activities with other production groups, as required.
· Assure conformance with the 5S program.
· Follows and enforces all safety procedures according to standards. Is proactive on safety concerns and takes action when appropriate, conduct safety audits.
· Completes standard work and ensures corrective actions are completed.
· Perform CI projects utilizing the following Lean Tools: 5’why, 5’s, and PDCA.
· Train associates on AMS Lean Tools such as: 5’why, 5’s, and PDCA.
· Train current and new associates on MDI process.
· Follows Leader Standard Work/Written Work instruction procedures.
· Develops his/her own Leader Standard Work.
· Develop Self Improvement Plans.
· Serve as a member of the department’s leadership team, providing assistance as required and perform other duties as assigned and participate in the Continuous Improvement Process.
· Support and participate in all Lean Initiatives.
· Update all visual boards in the department.
· Identify and research system issues and participate in problem resolution.
· Provide feedback on employee’s performance for supervisor analysis on reviews.
· Assist with hazardous waste management.
· Knowledge of employee capabilities and training within assigned cost center/value stream. Coordinates movement of employees according to business needs.
· Lead continuous improvement.
· Act as a mentor to VSTL I’s.
· Understand the interdependencies (manufacturing/functional groups) across the value stream.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Manufacturing Operations experience.
· High School Graduate /GED/HSED.
· Ability to learn product, process and equipment.
· Intermediate computer skills (MS Office).
· Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques (5S).
· Changeover and set-up knowledge.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train and motivate employees.
· Proven ability to problem solve, make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proven effectiveness working with others.
· Continuous improvement experience required.
· Proven ability to be flexible.
· Self-motivated.
· Successful completion of all AMS foundation courses.
· Advance knowledge of 7 wastes in production.
· In depth understanding of the 5-whys.
· In depth understanding of 5 S.
· In depth understanding of PDCA.

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
