SUMMARY 

Transaction clerks are responsible for, several administrative tasks including but not limited to, checking in shipments and logging what was received into AS400, doing cycle counts, helping leadership update the Late from Operations (LFO) report, creating labels, entering data into Excel spreadsheets, and should be familiar with Microsoft Office. Clerks are encouraged to think outside the box to solve problems, help track items that ship, assist team leader in doing yard checks, and opening/closing shipping docks in AS400.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Collect and validate production/shipping data 

- Enter production/shipping data into the computer; assure accuracy

 - Compile and distribute production/shipping reports 

- Responds to requests for data from various departments 

- Maintain hardcopy and electronic files 

- Collect and validate packing slips from vendors 

- Perform administrative tasks as needed

 - Making and laminating tugger tags as needed 

- Assure conformance with the 5S program

- Assure compliance with all related safety policies and procedures 

- Serve as a member of the production/shipping team, proving assistance as required 

- Print production scheduling lists, labels, and drawings. Deliver reports to the production lines. 

- Order replacement materials. 

- Perform material transactions as required to ensure the efficient flow of production material through the facility. 

- Communicate with trucking companies with information regarding trailers and loads. 

- Order necessary supplies with the distribution company 

- Research to find the appropriate information when a discrepancy arises. 

- Attend various meetings for updates in the shipping department. 

 - Run period Cycle Counts to ensure product counts and inventory are accurate. Investigate and correct discrepancies as required. 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Cross train to learn all areas associated with Transaction Clerk responsibilities. 

- Train others to correctly perform individual functions within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

 - Work with other functional areas to resolve purchasing and/or payment discrepancies.

 - Proactively submit continuous improvement suggestions and work with area supervisors and team leaders to solve problems and implement corrective actions. 

- Perform safety walk-throughs of warehousing and storage areas. 

Report all safety violations. 

Perform corrective actions immediately if no additional assistance is required.

 QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

- High School Graduate/GED/HSED 

- Ability to read and understand orders and material lists 

- Must have an understanding of the MRP system 

- Must have an understanding of the cycle count program 

- Basic reading, writing and math skills 

- Oral communication skills 

- Demonstrated computer data entry and retrieval skills (perform at required standards) - Interpersonal skills: must be able to work with personnel throughout the facility 

- Demonstrated attention to detail; significant requirement for accuracy 

 - Physical ability to perform key job duties 

- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision 

- Knowledge of Excel, AS400, ordering & receiving system and B.O.M. 

- Understanding of related safety policies and procedures WORK PACE: 

- Work Pace Type: Task Defined 

- The work pace will be determined differently depending on paperwork to process.

- Overtime: Occasionally workers will be required to work overtime

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY ::

·       Must be able to stand for 10 hrs

·       Must be able to lift 50 lbs, etc.

 

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
