POSITION SUMMARY:
We are hiring for a Senior Business Manager – Andersen Division. The Senior Business Manager is responsible for leading and developing the growth strategy for a business unit segment of the Andersen Division Windows & Doors. The Andersen division business unit leaders work directly with a cross-function team of Finance, Research & Development, Operations, Project Leadership, Sales, Marketing, HR and IT to deliver critical business results including achieving sales and margin targets and, in the development, and execution of the product lifecycle management for a given customer product tier.
The Senior Business Manager role leads the business from a broad general manager point of view and owns business results. They are responsible for translating Andersen’s business strategy into a product strategy by developing a vision, strategic and annual operating plans for their business and working closely with delivery partners (sales, marketing, RD&I, operations, finance, IT and human resources) throughout the Andersen Enterprise to deliver those plans. They lead the business day-to-day by producing sound plans, spotting problems and opportunities early, and responding urgently to them.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing the business unit’s strategic plan to achieve its goals and objectives, including product lifecycle management.
- Overseeing the budget, financial performance, and profitability of the business unit/team(s) including safety, quality, service, cost, sales, and gross profit.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the management team and staff within the business unit.
- Ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operations, including process improvements, resource allocation, operations/logistics, CERT, and marketing, etc.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats, and adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Develop a detailed understanding of competitors and provide product marketing with insights on key competitive differentiators and messages.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Setting business unit/team(s) performance metrics, monitoring progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Developing and leading project plans; developing overall budgets, implementing these plans and assigning resources.
- Ensuring the business unit complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, and managing risks.
- Driving innovation and growth initiatives to expand the business unit’s market presence and competitive edge in partnership with Research & Development.
- Providing regular reports to senior management on the business unit’s performance, challenges, and opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills to set and achieve long-term business goals.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the industry in which the business unit operates, including market trends and competitive landscape.
- Operational Expertise: Experience in managing day-to-day operations, optimizing processes, and improving efficiency.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and influence stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Change Management: Ability to manage and drive change within the organization, adapting to evolving business environments.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with demonstrated growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty or level of responsibility. Previous general management, product management, or other product related experience preferred.
- Travel requirement 25-35%.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
