SUMMARY:

The Senior Software Engineer in this role will design, develop, test and implement BaanIV application solutions using a variety of tools and technologies.  The scope of the solutions will vary in size and complexity from department level to enterprise-wide and may be internally focused within Andersen Corporation or externally focused to support a variety of customer channels.  Able to lead small development teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Independently working closely with business customers to understand, define and document business requirements, functional requirements and design requirements for high complexity assignments.

·       Consult with Product Owners, Account Managers and IT Architects in the design phase of high-complexity projects to leverage technology and provide implementation recommendations and accurate estimates to support business process improvements.

·       Responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation of high-complexity assignments

·       Coordinate and assist with the deployment of applications into the production environment.

·       Completes comprehensive unit, system and performance testing of application that includes its components and interfaces.  Assists less experience Software Engineers in the test plan development, execution and validation.

·       Participate in the definition and adherence to design, development and testing methods and techniques that meet corporate IT standards.  Responsible for code reviews of other team members.

·       Work with IT infrastructure staff and PMO staff to ensure the successful delivery of the application.

·       Adhere to Agile practices and other PMO or Team project methodology.

·       Independently estimate the design, development, testing and deployment of high complexity assignments and meet the estimated time for delivery.

·       Develop and maintain relationships with business customers, project leaders, Architects and account managers.

·       Support other Software Engineers on technical issues and assist with their development efforts.

·       Research and develop skills in new technologies.

·       Develop and provide end-user training and application support.

·       May regularly coach other team members (internal and contractor), or plan work for others to meet project deadlines.  Has no direct reports or staff responsibilities concerning providing career development, training opportunities, and conducting performance evaluations 

 

Qualification:

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, MIS or a related discipline

·       Minimum of 5 years of development experience with BaanIV.

·       Familiar with a variety of application development methodologies including SDLC, Agile and Scrum

·       Experience developing web applications that are customer facing

·       Strong understanding and experience with database technologies including SQL and Oracle

·       Able to work individually as well as in a team environment

·       Frequently working with Sr. Software Engineer and management to communicate knowledge, ideas, and opinions while providing technical direction to small teams to ensure development best practices are being followed and project milestones are being met

·       Able to deliver high-quality solutions

·       Able to manage and prioritize a number of tasks and projects

·       Strong problem-solving skills and able to generate creative solutions

·       Strong focus on customer service and goes the extra mile to ensure a positive customer experience

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
