Summary:

Responsible for delivering robust quality control strategies and solutions to strategic projects across the enterprise. These solutions will align with the requirements defined in the Andersen Corporate Quality Manual, product drawings/specifications, and Hallmark/NFRC requirements.

 

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To be a valued member of a highly skilled cross-functional team that is able to successfully implement Andersen’s most strategic projects and create an environment for our employees to succeed. As a member of this team, you will own the quality work content specific to each project. This work content includes capital budget creation, quality control strategy design – plan for every workstation, equipment validation, plant infrastructure, and Quality Management System development.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Capital budget creation

·        Identifying and sourcing measurement tools, error proofing solutions, and Industry 4.0 technology

·        Identifying critical to quality items using process FMEA techniques, customer feedback, and current state analysis

·        Ability to work with RD&I and equipment vendors on product tolerances, specification, and datum strategies

·        Supplier PPAP’s

·        Quality Management Development – Focused on creating Governing Procedures for sites that are compliant to Andersen’s Corporate Quality Manual and third-party requirements such as NFRC and WDMA.

·        Delivering plant infrastructure needs – Quality Lab, Test Wall, measurement and software systems

·        Process validation plan creation

·        Process validation completion at vendor and at Andersen

·        Create quality control strategy (plan for every workstation) – Using value stream mapping tool to identify high risk workstations

·        Conduct a variety of quality studies such as Gage R&R, Capability, and DOE

·        Promote and practice the use of Andersen’s Management System (AMS) for continuous improvement such (process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Gage R&R, control plan).

·        Uses participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with Associates, Supervisors, Maintenance, Value Stream Managers, Materials Management, R&D and peers.

·        Utilizes sound project management tools such as PMBOK for complex projects and key initiatives. 

·        Collaborates with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner input.

·        Demonstrates continued personal growth and development.

·        Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with R&D, Operations Management and other Business Partners in order to include Policy Deployment goals/metrics that will further the elimination of variation and drive continuous improvement. 

·        Promotes Total Costs and Lean Manufacturing principles, with a focus on creating value and eliminating waste. 

 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a BS/BA degree in Engineering, Technology or Management or equivalent training and expertise. 
  • 3-5 years of Engineering experience
  • Background in Quality Engineering or Engineering discipline. 
  • Knowledge of quality programs and initiatives, SPC and process capability, and lean manufacturing principles. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate, both written and verbal to all levels within the organization and externally, to suppliers and customers. 
  • Flexibility to travel, as projects require, could range from 25 - 75%, depending on project scope.

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.  Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
