SUMMARY
This position will manage a profile extrusion tooling operation and lead a team of approximately 10-20 individuals. This organization is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Andersen Corporation, its primary customer. This organization designs extrusion die and calibration tooling systems based on established criteria in CAD, plans and executes the manufacturing stages, produces the required CNC code in CAM, machines all the components needed via milling, turning & EDM, and assembles these components along with purchased hardware for complete die and calibration assemblies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage day-to-day operations of complex and/or multiple operational areas or value stream(s) and key functional areas while delivering performance to budget. Use participative approach in budgeting process. Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the value stream and functional areas. Ensure cross-organization collaboration and associate involvement where appropriate. 20%
Manages Managers/Supervisors/Leads to ensure team provides site-level coverage and leadership
during business hours. Ensures that a wide variety of issues are identified and addressed
appropriately, following company guidelines and practices (this may include supplier, productivity,
safety, associate issues, etc.). 20%
Deliver agreed results in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, cost, and associate
satisfaction/development for all areas of responsibility. Define and communicate performance targets
for safety, quality, customer service and cost. 15%
Develop and implement plans to provide process improvement in key areas defined above. Value
stream improvement initiatives will be aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles and the
manufacturing strategic plan and corporate initiatives. 10%
Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and financial resources necessary to meet
customer expectations and implement the business improvement plans. 10%
Establish an environment conducive to high levels of morale, associate satisfaction, and performance.
Maintains good employee relations in managed business section by seeing that policies and
procedures are understood and applied in a fair and uniform manner. Have a desire to learn and
appreciate continued personal growth and development. Be a role model supporting the value of
continuous learning. 15%
Oversee the designing, manufacturing, and quality assurance of precision tooling. 5%

DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
Describe oversight, guidance and/or work direction provided and type of positions being directed (employees, contractors, etc.). Then TAB to the next section.
This individual would have some level of hands-on experience as a tool maker, would have some level of direct experience with CAD & CAM systems, be knowledgeable of modern machining equipment and practices, and would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a similar team of designers, machinists, toolmakers, and
support staff. This individual would be accustomed to managing the defined business and operational performance goals and standards. An excellent candidate would find value in the further development of staff through mentoring, teaching, as well as through specialized training.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
5 years’ experience in leading a similar team of designers, machinists, toolmakers, and support staff.
BS/BA Degree Desired
In-depth knowledge of CAD, CAM, precision machining, toolmaking, and general manufacturing processes and
best practices.
Experience being a team builder and leader with the ability to motivate associates at all levels while displaying
energy for the business. Strong administrative & employee management skills.
Good communication skills with strong writing, grammar, proofreading, and typing skills with advanced
experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs, etc.
In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
