SUMMARY:
This role encompasses a wide range of mechanical tasks, including the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of production and support equipment, as well as their control systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: Handling the setup, upkeep, and fixing of production and support machinery.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously overseeing equipment performance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Procedure Development: Creating and implementing maintenance procedures and techniques to ensure the plant operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Data Analysis: Utilizing available data to refine and enhance equipment maintenance plans.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform work tasks as assigned by plant management, either alone or as a work team member, as necessary for the effective and efficient conduct of company business within specified or shortest time possible, at lowest cost and with minimum waste; work direction may come from other sources on occasion, such as project leaders.
- Work productively with Engineering, Supervisory, and production personnel at all levels in a fully supportive relationship to contribute to effective manufacturing operations.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations and manufacturing equipment down time scenarios, identify and diagnose problems with manufacturing support systems and equipment and offer possible logical solutions to them.
- Conform to maintenance department standard operating procedures as required; maintain work logs and record labor, materials, and equipment used for all work assignments; update (red line) drawings and documentation following installation work.
- Use safe working methods and procedures to avoid injury to self and co-workers or damage to company property.
- Report unsafe work conditions, practices, or equipment hazards to maintenance management immediately; approach co-workers if an unsafe act or condition is observed and discuss possible safe alternatives.
- Perform miscellaneous or general maintenance work as required and assist in check out, debug and start-up of new equipment as needed.
- Perform modifications to production and production related equipment per work orders, work descriptions, and drawing packages.
- Work in space-limited and confined space areas in, around, and under production equipment and in areas which have noise levels that require hearing protection, require eyeglass side shields, and may require special safety equipment, special attire, or respirators.
- Work overtime (includes nights and weekends) with a flexible schedule in compliance with department guidelines as necessary to complete work assignments on schedule unless excused by the Supervisor.
- Contribute to overall cleanliness and safety of working areas by keeping work areas neat and orderly, with cleanup of work area at the completion of each job.
- Technical College Degree / Diploma in mechanical related field.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical prints and understand drawing symbols and nomenclature.
- Possess good communication skills (both oral and written) and good documentation skills.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools proficiently.
- Able to lift, pull, reach, bend, squat, kneel, etc. and climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding and work at heights.
- Ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) of various types.
- Possess a good understanding of typically used computer programs (MS Office Suite).
- Minimum 15 years of maintenance work experience in an industrial setting.
- Proven ability to install, maintain, repair, modify, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and components such as: Bearings and mounting systems; Gearboxes and transmissions; Pumps of various styles, valves, pumping systems and minor piping repairs; Hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment; Clutch, brakes and drive components; and Couplings and drive linkages.
- Ability to perform basic machining activities to include set up and operation of shop equipment and portable power tools; also use precision measuring equipment for machining.
- Experience performing millwright tasks to include moving material, equipment and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding and rolling.
- Practical knowledge in the use of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) instruments and methods for equipment health monitoring.
- Experience setting up PM programs for new equipment or improving PM programs for existing equipment.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
