SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to lead and manage a team of project industrial engineers for the Manufacturing Intergration Transformtion Team in Bayport, MN. This leader will be responsible for developing a team of engineers that will execute projects supporting growth, innovation, and performance of Andersen Business. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced strategic-thinking leader that has a passion for developing and leading a high-performing team.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of engineers that support the design/development and implementation of advanced manufacturing systems and standards
· Set clear goals and objectives, assess progress, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability
· Deploy a strategy that recruits, builds, retains, and engages all employees through inclusion and teamwork, and provides a safe and special place to work
· Work with business partners using data to determine project focus and long-term strategy
· Provide resource allocation guidance for the engineering team through analysis of current and future state workload, skill, experience, and qualifications
· Develop, execute, and manage the capital and expense budgets for the engineering team as required
· Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the growth and development of the engineering team

 

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 
 
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
4-year bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering
· 5+ years of experience in manufacturing support or project engineering roles
· 2+ years of technical or operational leadership experience (engineering, quality, operations, etc.)
· Demonstrated experience with coaching and team/individual development
· Ability to train and coach engineers on work execution using operational excellence tools (lean, six sigma, etc.)
 
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience managing project resources supporting broad range of initiatives
· Experience with leading/managing capital expenditure projects (equipment, IT systems, etc)
· Experience with complex, highly configurable products, mixed modeling, and associated manufacturing systems
· Experience with simulation software and data analytics

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
