Summary:
The operations/manufacturing engineering team is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support our 100 Series and Andersen Aluminum (also known as Heritage) fabrication and assembly processes. We see significant growth on the horizon, and we’re looking for a candidate with a background in manufacturing, cycle time and capacity analyses, and management of changes who will engineer our transition from effectively using our existing resources to bringing in additional capacity.
This work will be accomplished in Goodyear, AZ in our 550,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled facility. It’s an amazing place with smart factory technology, warm, welcoming and fun work environment, privacy rooms for new mothers, prayer/meditation rooms along with an outstanding benefit and compensation plan. This Industrial Engineer will work on site with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate current state processes to characterize capacity and the assumptions and variables impacting that capacity
- Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream
- Solutions may include material flow and pull concepts, scrap and remake investigations, and root cause and corrective action for process variations
- Partner with peers across two additional sites producing 100 Series products to share best practices and contribute to a three-plant model of our capacity
- Collaborate with team members in operations, supply chain, quality, engineering, and other departments to persuasively sell continuous improvement ideas and communicate technical information in a confident and respectful manner
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology
- 1-5 years of industrial engineering, lean, Six Sigma, or related experiences
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in collaborating with and influencing cross functional groups
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
- Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships
- Experience with change management strategies
- Travel related to projects may be required at a rate of less than 10%
