OVERVIEW:
Andersen Corporation is seeking an Industrial Engineer at our Bayport, MN location.
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for providing Industrial Engineering support for the 400S PSCA (Casement) supermarket and assembly areas. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker that has a passion for working with material flow, containerization, and supply chain systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities in manufacturing are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives through continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity.
- Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements within the value-stream
- Support of Casement assembly operations focused on improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
- Assess current & future capacity requirements by utilizing marketing forecasts, value stream mapping, and capacity planning methodologies
- Partner with supply chain and operations teams to leverage efficient process methods and improve labor utilization
- Utilize effective lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream
- Identify causes of process variation and recommend corrective action
- Implement effective material flow concepts and pull systems with special attention to parts presentation to improve manufacturing productivity
- Improve material and information flow across end-to-end connected operations
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree
- Open to varying levels of experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principals
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in collaborating with and influencing cross functional groups
- Positive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customers
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
