SUMMARY
 

This position is responsible to effectively contribute to policy deployment and enterprise key initiatives within the Bayport Operations Electrical Engineering team. This is done through playing the key technical role in safety assessments, projects/assignments, and leading large-scale projects/assignments with a focus on continuous improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes.

 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Develop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plans.
  • Develop work methods and layouts. 
  • Electrical project management working with delivery partners to assure specifications and code requirements are followed.
  • Design the power and control wiring of industrial automation equipment.
  • Assess current vs. future electrical technology capabilities and investigate and suggest technology changes.
  • Develop and implement new and existing equipment standards and acceptance plans.
  • Support electrical safety in the plant, arc flash protection and calculations, electrical distribution requirements and coordination.
  • Develop electrical print packages, programs, and layouts.
  • Develop vender relationships and identify capable equipment vendor supply chain.
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles. 
  • Project management skills; deliver safe, effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions (project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, preventative maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request).
  • Mentor developing technicians and interns.
  • Participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, value stream managers, and peers. 
  • Electrical process support for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner input.
  • Interface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology
  • 3-10 years engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of PLC's, HMI's, drives, and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of servo motion control; design, troubleshooting, and programing requirements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Strong mechanical background.

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
